In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 27-year-old actress shared her reaction when she watched the film together with her parents at its premiere. “It was hilarious,” she said. “They’ve all seen Euphoria, you know, so it’s not like our first rodeo or anything.”

According to Deadline, the former child actress grew up in Oakland, California, then moved to Los Angeles where she attended Oak Park High School in Ventura County.

Per People magazine, the Dune star’s father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman worked as a teacher then as his daughter’s manager in more recent years. Zendaya previously told Complex that her dad is very protective of her. “My dad is going to vet any guy that even looks at me,” she joked. Zendaya’s mother Claire Stoermer is also a teacher, according to People. “Growing up, I watched my mom teach in the heart of Oakland, California, at inner-city schools that were always underfunded. My mom went above and beyond, working constantly to open her students’ eyes to an education that could lift them far beyond their current circumstances,” Zendaya told Teen Vogue in 2016.

Zendaya’s parents aren’t together romantically any more – and haven’t been in a long time.

So when reports began surfacing in 2016 that the pair had split up, the Disney alum took to X to share that her mum and dad have remained close over the years as friends. “My parents ain’t been together for a long time, y’all didn’t know cause we private+they still homies,” she wrote on the platform.
