PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE

Colonel returns to the level of a front-running Valley 1,200m win in March after hanging around for minor cheques in three of four starts in Class Four. He is a pace threat with the claim well utilised. Good View Glory has filled the frame in his past two C&D starts and should map nicely from gate two. Tactical Command is risky on his past Sha Tin form but recently returned to the level of a 1,200m Valley win in February with a troubled eighth over the 1,200m before a closing fourth after a slow start over 1,000m. He is drawn to get his chance. Commanding Missile has the widest draw but did return to form with a pace-stalking second to Smart Leader down in grade last start over this C&D. He is a place chance.

TROUBLE IN RUNNING

KING INVINCIBLE (H199) bumped shortly the start. When questioned, rider stated that making the first turn his mount lay in slightly. He said approaching the 500M his mount then hung out which resulted in him having to correct his mount and his mount shifting wider on the track - Race 627.

MR GOOD VIBES (H180) jumped awkwardly. Lay out in the Home Straight and approaching the 150M shifted out, resulted in its rider having to stop riding and straighten - Race 610.

TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) was slow to begin. Near the 400M was steadied. Then had some difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance after - Race 627.

COMMANDING MISSILE (G210) when questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, rider stated that when his mount travelled strongly after the 400M he was reluctant to place it under pressure as his mount had not finished its races off at its previous race starts. He stated that between the 400M and the 250M as his mount continued to travel strongly into the event, he held his mount together to encourage it to improve and approaching the 250M he then commenced to ride his mount along when a runner improved to his outside. He added his mount responded reasonably well to his riding, however, he was unable to prevent the winner improving past his mount. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 542.

HAPPY TANGO (D075) shifted out on jumping and was bumped - Race 638.

JAZZ CLUB (G285) was left racing wide and without cover from the 900M. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 579.

MULTIMORE (D443) near the 400M was steadied when momentarily crowded. After the 300M was checked to avoid a runner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 627.

GOOD VIEW GLORY (H154) bumped on the hindquarters near the 250M and became unbalanced. Was bumped near the 25M. Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection on behalf of the connections of the horse, placed 4th, against the 3rd placegetter being declared the 3rd placegetter. When rider did not lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds to do so having regard to the margin of ? length between both horses at the finish, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Subsequently the Stewards interviewed rider in respect of his decision not to lodge a protest/objection. He stated that as he felt the horse had sufficient time to improve past the 3rd placegetter in the Home Straight and the contact occurred close to the finishing line, he was of the opinion there were not sufficient grounds to do so. When questioned, rider stated that the instructions were not to hold a forward position, but from an inside barrier his mount commenced well and as a result he took advantage of the good start to hold a more forward position - Race 579.

GREAT DAYS (H119) in the early stages raced keenly and when being shifted behind a runner approaching the 800M was steadied away from heels of that runner. After the 150M had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted out - Race 542.

HAPPILY FRIENDS (C533) in the early stages raced ungenerously and got its head up. Approaching the 400M was held up for clear running - Race 627.

SAME TO YOU (H057) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 647.

TRACKWORK HIGHLIGHT
